David has been with Casimir Jones since 2008, beginning as a technology specialist with a background in biochemistry and structural/molecular biology, and returning to law school to become an attorney and shareholder with the firm. 

David counsels and assists clients with the full scope of patent legal services, including freedom to operate and patentability analyses, patent preparation and prosecution, and post-issuance proceedings and litigation. David enjoys working with clients to strategically develop and execute patent strategies and manage portfolios that maximize scope of patent protection and align with clients’ business interests and research/development aims.  He has experience working with universities, small and large biotech companies, startups, and well-established organizations to meet each client’s unique needs and budgets.

In addition to his patent practice, he counsels clients on various U.S. and international trademark issues, works with clients to develop and execute comprehensive trademark strategies that are integrated with a client’s business/marketing interests, and assists clients in filing and prosecuting trademark applications, and has a depth of experience in trademark enforcement, including litigation, opposition/cancellation matters, and negotiations with infringing parties to reach beneficial resolutions for his clients. 

Outside of work, David is an avid cross-country skier (enjoying it more than is probably reasonable) and takes part annually in the American Birkebeiner ski race. Time with his family, enjoying cooking/eating delicious food, and traveling fills out his free time.
